So I'm gonna buy some headphones for gaming and also listening to music outside via my Android phone. Two candidates I'm torn between are Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless and Arctis 3 Bluetooth. They're almost the same price and I assume use the same drivers although there are some differences in sound ratings here: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/steelseries-arctis-1-wireless-vs-steelseries-arctis-3-2019-edition/5455/831?usage=9287&threshold=0.1

Arctis 1 Wireless Pros:

Better wireless sound as it uses 2.4GHz wireless

EQ control through software

Can use wirelessly while gaming

Arctis 3 Bluetooth Pros:

No Dongle to connect to phone (It's not much of an issue as my phone is USB-C but still one less thing to lose)

Has the headband thing so more comfortable

7.1 surround

It's 3 instead of 1 so better??? (I really don't know)

The other minor difference is that the 1 has a detachable mic and the 3 has a retractable.

Please advise. I'm open to other suggestions too.

Most of this is achievable through software already. Such as EQ, (virtual surround (Which wont sound good with music btw)).

Get the Arctis 1. The difference is minor except for some few stuff as you mentioned. You can't really get that good of an audio through most gaming headsets either, especially wireless. But if you need wireless then go ahead.

You can read my latest post if you want to know more about good headphones and not gaming headsets.

If you do have money for the Sony WH-1000XM3's you should look into those. They are both wired and bluetooth. Not a big fan of BT but I've heard good things.

Wireless for the PC is not that important, just for the phone as it does not have a 3.5 mm jack. I'm looking into your post right now.

My post basically says buy good headphones instead of gaming headsets.

But the sony WH-1000XM3's are good but pricey. The arctis 1's will be enough for you if you don't want to spend more.
