PSU wattage?

Hi my friend has an AMD Fx 8320, 2x4gb RAM, and a GTX 760, 1TB WD Black HD. His Computer does not have a display signal. Could this be because he doesn't have enough power? He has a 500W Power Supply.

It's a new Corsair CX 500. He can't change any BIOS Settings because there is no signal when he plugs the display cable to the GTX 760, which is confirmed to be working. This is a brand new build.

Take out the card and try integrated graphics

 

Rule out everything you possibly can tell you have it narrowed down to 1 or 2

 

 

Suggest taking out one DIMM of RAM, taking out the GPU, trying a diff CPU if possible, etc.

Take out one stick of RAM, clear CMOS (Press a button if available or just unplug it, pop the watch battery out, press the power button for 5s then redo everything)

maybe try to figure out post beep codes or just post codes, if the board has them. It will tell you weather and where there is a problem. Check weather the monitor works, check weather this port of the monitor works and check weather all the power cables are connected to the card properly

yep thats plenty, reconmended for that build is 348w so 500w as long as its 80%+ effecient should be fine. im running a amd athlon II X4 640 @3GHz, with 2x2gb ddr3 ram and a nvidia geforce 8800gts 512 video card on my cheap 5 year old 400w psu
