Blue screen troubleshooting

travster92

I am getting blue screen errors daily and it has been happening for about 3 weeks. I have don't everything I know how to do and I can't fix it.

Original system specs:

Ryzen 9 3900x

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16)

MSI Geforce RTX 2080 TI Gaming X Trio

Corsair Force MP510 M.2 NVMe

WD Blue 2TB SSD

Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD @7200 RPM

Seagate Barracuda 4TB HDD @5400 RPM

Corsair RMx 750 PSU

Replacement parts used for testing:

Ryzen 7 3700x

MSI B550 Gaming Plus

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8)

Corsair Vengeance LPX  16GB (2x8)

EVGA Geforce GTX 1650 Super

WD Blue 1TB SSD

All of those replacement parts are brand new. I have tried every combination of those parts and I always get a blue screen. I have reinstalled Windows 7 times and been in contact with Microsoft who did it 2 more times. My computer will boot and will at the desktop forever, but blue screens as soon as I open an internet browser so I can't upload my dump files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cool i know what the issue is, its your motherboard not liking your ram.

Do you have XMP enabled?

I didn't at first, but I think I did when the problem started. I have since turned it off and tried 3 different sets of RAM and 2 different motherboards.

Yes, I'm running the latest BIOS. I'm not sure what the version is, but it was released 8/31/2020. The RAM is currently in slots 2 and 4 but I have also tried just 1 stick in only slot 4. I'm also currently using the B550 Gaming Plus and the Vengeance LPX.

Its either bad ram compat or a faulty CPU memory controller.

Since you have spare ram and CPU try both under windows 10.

I returned they Ryzen 7 to the store because it did not fix the blue screen issue and it was causing stuttering on my system. And the 16GB Vengeance RGB Pro is with my wife on it's way to Honduras for her computer. But I did try the Ryzen 7 in the B550 with both sets of Vengeance RGB Pro. Also, if it makes any difference; I have run the Windows memory diagnostic 4 times, memtest86 once, 4 GPU stress tests, and 2 CPU stress tests. None of those found any issues or caused a blue screen/crash. It only happens when I open a web browser.

I just switched back to the B450 Tomahawk Max with the new Vengeance LPX memory and got the irql_not_less_or_equal error again. I don't know if these pictures will give anyone more information, but I don't know what any of that means.
