Download from Microsoft site.

i cant figure out how to do this. The key that i am using is from an OEM build. Its on my laptop. I had a disk for my desktop but i have no clue where i put that...I used the windows 8 setup thing that microsoft has but it doesnt work with that because it is an oem license.

Who manufactured the laptop? You might have to get in touch with them and get an iso from them.

A lot of OEM versions of Windows are really picky about installing in the first place.

I would've expected windows 8 to be on digital river but its not :(

i forgot about digital river. But yeah I really don't understand why it's this hard to get ahold of an ISO

After checking ROG forums and few other sites I think your going to have to ring microsoft and explain your OEM key isn't being recognised due to something like an SSD they will probably issue a new one.

I know its been done before but I thinks it a look of the draw kind of thing.

thanks! I might be in contact with you later if that's okay? Lol

Fine by me lol usually you can bitch your SSD is making windows see a different hardware configuration and won't accept your oem install they can deactivate keys anyway when they issue new ones so they should be ok but as I said it depends on who you get tech support is like a raffle you might get someone happy to help you

yeah, I seem to not have much luck with people but I might as well try.

with windows 8 and the way keys are stored in UEFI when it comes to installing it shouldn't even ask for a product key. It theoretically should install properly. Just torrent a retail disc image, load it onto a thumb drive and voilà!
