hi there, This is a project releated to my dell 3250 and upgrading issue that i'm sure you guys can help. Config-i3 gth gen , 7200 rpm hdd , 180 w psu , 4gb ddr3l . Issues - how to fit a 1050ti there, ram to 16 gb

Option 1: Put the motherboard in a new case, probably will involve a fair bit of modding

Option 2: Find a OEM GTX 1050 Ti that's half-height and single slot (no consumer 1050 Ti that I know of is both of those)

Non-existent. These small form factor machines aren't really designed to have add-in GPUs installed. They're designed to primarily run on integrated graphics only as they are office machines.

so i don't need to cool it ?. Btw if u look at forms from llt about dell 3250 people still convert them with gpu and it is possible

i know dell used to have small oem gpus i dont know if they will have a 1050ti but i would get ahold of them they will try and sell you the ones that will fit that but ask them for the part number then check ebay

You need to cool it, but it's just not possible to do with the card inside the case with the side panel closed. You'll likely need to use a PCIe riser and have the card sitting outside of the case.

i was thinking of removing optical drive reader as shown below or should i think of a new case

no most of dells mobo are built just for that case i have run across same modle but 2 years apart and the screw holes would not line up over an inch off

ok should i remove optical drive to make space ?

i realy dont know i would youtube moding you case and such i stay away from sff cases i just know about them because i used to work for a computer refurb company and we would get then in and i would have to fix, spec, and resell them

Low profile, single slot GT 1030's do exist. They don't require extra power (it comes from the pcie slot). They also have an integrated fan for cooling.
