I can't do 35w, the laptop had a top model of 25w.thats why I asked if the 2.0ghz single or the 1.6ghz dual would be better.

Probably the 1.6ghz dual core Athlon or TK series.

Have you figured out how to overclock it yet?

Would I see more benefit between a 2c/2t 1.6ghz cpu, or a 1c/1t 2.0ghz cpu? I have a 1.6ghz 1c/1t cpu in my laptop, Ang want a upgrade. (Yes, it's a upgradeable s1g1 laptop)

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

AMD never had SMT until Ryzen. Either you have a single core or a dual core now.

If you have a dual core, you just find another dually with a higher frequency like ML-42.

Oh it's K8 duh. I missed the S1G1 , was thinking G4 which is K10.

Probably the TK-55 if the board will handle 35w chips.... That I'm not sure of.

Well not through the bios probably not.

But back then, the bios wasn't locked down like today's laptops either.

Try this program.

If it reads clocks, you just move the slider and hit apply and confirm clock change with cpuz.

Nearer the bottom of my sig list, you'll see a couple Turion II K10 chips I've OCed.

You wont have any voltage controll. So you get what you get and that's it.

What slider? When ever I try to click on something, I just move the window.

Then it cant read the PLL.

You can try setfsb also, but have to select the proper PLL for the board.

Ah, it was set to none. I chose one, and then the slider showed up. One of them crashed it.

Right.

The PLL chip on the board will have the PLL number right on it. You want to match or very closely match that number in the program

Now that I think about it, would there be a similar program for a onboard GPU?

It's been a bit, but I got bored and took apart the laptop. Where would the PLL chip be?

On the first photo, the open die is the south bridge. On the second, the GPU, CPU, and VRMs are under the cooling solution.

Nah, that's not it...

It won't say PLL on it.

The PLL ID might start with IC XXXXXXX
