PC no POST after shutdown while Win Updates

Axel-from-DE

Hi there,

the setup is a Ryzen 5 2600 on an ASUS Prime B450M-K Board with a GTX1600Supe on it.

The PC was newly build and installed. All well.

Windows 10 Updates were installed. While the updates were installed, the system asked for a reboot.

During the reboot, when the PC is really booting new, I turned it of as I had to leave.

After about 30mins I turned it on again to let it doing the final tasks for the updates. But it shows nothing since then.

No POST screen, no HDD led flickering. Nothing. Even the fans are running on full speed and are not slowing down. Even the power LED of the case is not lit.

I already removed the battery and shorted the "Clear RTC RAM" jumper on the board.
But nothing. No Post, no nothing, but only running fans and an blinking RGB LEDs on the case/fans. ;)

Do you have any idea on how to get this running again?

I really got stuck here.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings

Axel

First step, try different combinations of RAM sticks in different slots, try single stick configs, everything you can think of.

Second step, it's tedious, unplug and replug EVERYTHING inside the PC, and even reseat the processor if it still isn't working.

Another idea is to let it sit without power for a while, and without the CMOS battery, then try powering it up. What power supply do you have btw?

Quote my reply or I won't see your reply. It's the single overturning left arrow under every message.

I didn't ask if it was worth fixing, I asked for help fixing it.

Thanks for your reply, TheJoomes.
The PS is a be quiet! System Power B9 600 Watt (80+)

The PC stood overnight without the CMOS Battery and with no power cord.
I inserted the battery again and turned it on. No changes what so ever.

No power LED, no HD LED, fans are running with 100%, no video signal.

It looks like the combination of board and RAM is not suitable or either the board or RAM is faulty.

DOCP was enabled from the beginning. Then the problem occured. After resetting the BIOS DOCP was off again and the system was able show a POST.

Then I enabled DOCP in BIOS again and from that point on, the screen kept to be black again.

As there still is warranty on the devices I will receive a new Board and RAM.
