So I'm running an XFX RX 5500 XT 8 GB card in my system. I have been trying for about 3 weeks to get it to work consistently but I can't seem to step out for a smoke without it crashing to desktop or, especially today, seeming to stop working all together (the display output descales and the AMD software goes bye-bye untill I disable and re-enable device in device manager).   I'm not sure what to do to the thing outside of chucking the whole rig onto the nearest freeway.  Can I get some help trying to figure this out?

Rig:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600, no OC
Mobo: MSI B350M Bazooka

RAM: 32 GB Corsair LPX 3200 mHz

GPU: Stupid ass XFX RX 5500 XT
PSU: EVGA 450 Watt

I tried a 5500xt recently,not a single crash in like~20 hours of games.

I do think the driver"soft crashed" lots though.

In any case what you need to do is use DDU to uninstall your AMD GPU drivers in safe mode, best to do it twice, then reinstall*latest*. AMD

GPU driver from AMD.

That should fix it, if it doesn't return the GPU as it obviously is faulty.

Jake - I have more times than I care to count. I've done a clean install of windows, reinstalled drivers, and I still get the same issue.
Mark- I'll take a shot at that. I was wondering if it's possible that the GPU just isn't getting enough power cause, without looking, I believe the recommended PSU is 500 watts or greater.

Unless PSU has some sort of issue with delivering power, it shouldn't be a problem as the rx 5500xt doesn't draw much power.

You should try to re-seat the card and check any power connectors.

That'll be the next step if it crashes again. It seems to be working after a clean install of the drivers but, admittedly, I haven't been able to do much cause I'm trying to balance coffee, cigarettes and computer and failing miserably.
