as the title says, I searched it up they says yes but I don't know if it also applies to unlocked phones as well. Can anyone clear this up?

I think it sort of depends on your mobile carrier/ samsung.

I wasn't getting any updates from mine (was stuck on like 4.1.2)

I installed cyanogenmod and I'm currently on 4.4.2 (I get updates all the time now.)

International model won't,but the US models of the S3 will.Samsung has deeply disappointed me. :(

Just get cyanogenmod, i'm running 4.3 stable release and they have been working on 4.4 nightlies for a few months now with a few monthly snapshots as well.

Root the sucker and install a custom rom.
