New basic HTPC

FAHEYGF87

This build will be a quasi-"desk pc" that will replace my aging HTPC. The case will be the cabinet, that will also house my Nintendo Switch and my Xbox one.

Parts:

MOBO: MSI B550M PRO-VDH Wifi

CPU: R5 3400G with Noctual NH-L9a

RAM: 16gb Crucial Ballistix 3200

PSU: Corsair CX 550w

DRIVES: Samsung 970 evo plus (1tb) Boot, I don't remember 2tb, I don't remember 3tb, seagate ironwolf 4tb(temporary....borrowed from work)

FANS: 2-Noctua 140mm intakes

I lost the battle with my wife to have the counter top go all the way from wall to wall. In the last picture, the slabs are just sitting on top of the cabinets. I still need to sand, stain and secure them to the cabinets.

After the top is done, I need to make a shelf, that will be just below where the I/O and the fans are, that will be where the center speaker/dish receiver and my stereo receiver, will live.

Looks interesting. What is the airflow like in there? I see those fans are setup as intake, is there an exaust?

They are both intake, there is no exhaust. My thinking was that as long as the computer parts are sitting directly in front of the fresh air and are always at a positive pressure, the heated air will exhaust itself through the small gaps in the front door and drawer. This seams to be working pretty well so far, temps have stayed under 50c even while playing 4k video and plex streaming.

I do have an xbox one in that cabinet as well, fortunately it doesn't get used that often, but that will probably raise the temps a little, but i haven't tested it to figure out by how much yet
