I have the ASUS Zephyrus G14 with 4600HS and 1650- Great laptop, but very annoying fans. I downloaded a file from the G14 reddit that allows me to set a custom fan curve, allowing me to keep the fans off under light load. I have also disabled CPU boost to keep temperatures more steady.

Currently I have the curve set so the fans start to spin when the CPU hits 49C.

When web browsing or writing documents/ emails, temps hit about 45C max after at least an hour. Drive temps seem to hover around 50C.

My question is whether this is safe to do. These temps reported by hardware info 64 seem to be perfectly safe, so why does ASUS just not configure their laptop to run quieter with their own armoury crate software? Am I potentially shortening the longevity of some other component in the laptop, or is it just an oversight by ASUS not offering a completely silent mode?

Thanks for any help
