I've been trying to figure this out for a few weeks for now, but I'm not sure what to buy, or where to find the info to determine that. My motherboard is a gigabyte b450m ds3h, and there is one onboard RGB header, which is a 12 volt 4 pin connector. I'm wanting to connect at least 3 rgb fans and a few feet of led strips, but everything I'm finding is either 5 volt 3 pin ARGB, or is designed for "home" usage with the requisite AC power connection to the control unit. Ideally I'd like something that can be controlled through software on the system, but I'm open to IR remote control for lighting programs. I'm not in a "money is no object" situation, as you can probably tell from my motherboard choice, but I'm not looking for the cheapest solution either. Can anyone recommend something reliable that would work with my use case? Thanks!

This is what I have in my build, sorry, I know it's not cheap, but it's very effective, I control it through iCue, it doesn't seem to match with my MSI Dragoncentre.

And from my limited memory of where mine is plugged in, it seems that it goes via usb (looking at the newegg description), not 12 volt pin.
Good luck!

I'm not too worried about cheap, but I'm more than a little confused about what I'll need and how to connect it. The last time I built was well before rgb happened, and so I feel like I'm jumping in on something that I know nothing about, but everyone assumes that everyone knows. Can you tell me what I'll need other than that controller? What I want to do is to connect 4 maybe 5 pwm fans with lighting and enough strips to cover my case window. I know I'll have to get corsair fans which I have no problem with, but other than those, the strips, and that controller, is there anything else I'll need? I know it's a lot of questions but I'd appreciate any guidance.
