Building a PC on 320$ budget for general purpose home usage with the ryzen 3200G. After selecting everything else, i can't decide on which RAM configuration to use. Should i go for

1. 3200 MHz 8GB stick (high speed single channel)

2. 2400 MHz 2x 4GB stick (low speed dual channel)

the cost for either of the options is almost same and i cannot go for better ram configuration as I'm on a really tight budget.  please help me choose.

I'd rather see you get 16gb 2x8gb sticks honestly. 8gb total is so ddr3 days.

bro, i can't increase my budget for now. 8GB is the max for me as I've got to buy other parts in my tight budget. And i don't think i need 16GB ram as the pc will be casually used by home members for ms office, light gaming, media consumption and web browsing. For this type of usage, throwing in a random 8GB memory of any ddr4 speed should work fine as per my understanding. But i'm concerned about the RAM because i just want to get the best performance for my budget. BTW, thanks for your suggestion.

Yeah, I don't really know the specifics, but I could suggest a 49$ kit of OLOY 2x8gb 3000mhz Free shipping, but it might be like 10$ more.

Understandable the tight budget. Google chrome can easily eat 8gb of memory, or whatever is left from all the start up programs and the operating system.

And you're welcome.

Two sticks always for dual channel. You're just leaving performance on the table otherwise. Even at 2400Mhz, you're better off with two sticks, but this seems like an odd choice. You really can't find a two stick kit any higher than 2400Mhz, for the same price as that single stick 3200 8GB?

i understand that 2400MHz for ryzen apu is a bit slow. Although it's very hard to come by in my region, i'll try to get my hands on a couple of 4GB 2666 MHz sticks. i don't think i can find any higher bus speed than 2666 on a 4GB stick. Thanks for your suggestion BTW.
