With NO GPU?

Replace the MB....

Yeah with no GPU. If that's my only option then I guess I'm finding a new CPU and MOBO rip

Hi,

I recently took apart my system and redid some of my cable management to make airflow better in my SPEC 02. I just finished up and when I try to turn on my system, the first thing that happens is that I hear a popping static noise and then nothing happens. The motherboard is getting power, I can tell because of the orange strip on it. If I try to press the button again then nothing happens. I've tried turning the s6stem on with a screwdriver (shorting the pins method) and it will produce the same sound from the PSU. I never removed the PSU From the case and it was working before I changed anything, but I don't know why it won't work. Attached is a video of the sound is hear (Note: there are 2 distinct sounds: me pressing the power button on the case, and the sound of the PSU). The power supply was working just fine, earlier in the day, but idk what happened, help please.
-----------------

CPU: I7-7700
GPU: RX 580 8gb (XFX GTS)
RAM: 4x4 16gb
Storage: 250gb NVME + 4tb HDD
Case: Corsair SPEC 02
PSU: Corsair RM650x
Mobo: Asus Prime b250m-a

(The CPU was a gift from my dad, that's why it looks kindof out of place, and the b250 board had been doing just fine and its still getting power, so idk what the issue could be)

Remove the GPU from the system and see if it starts.

Are you sure you plugged in all the power connections, including the MB power.... EPS power connection.

Plugged in the CPU fan?

Sounds like something is tripping one of the protections on the PSU.

I never unplugged any of the CPU fan cables or anything like that, and everything is plugged in yes the system now starts up, but no output is coming from the motherboard

What?

So, I was able to turn on the system (aka all HDDs spin up, all lights come on, CPU Cooler spins) but I'm not getting any output. I was mentioning how when I took apart my system, I didn't have to take off the CPU cooler. When I take out the GPU I still get no output. Oddly enough, my keyboard isn't lighting up (it's plugged into the back USB ports in the Mobo) but the back USB ports are getting power (tested it with a USB wifi adapter, and the light comes on)

Jumper on the MB, have to pull the power cord before doing it...

Or you can just pull the power cord and remove the battery for about a min.

The monitor is plugged into the MB?

And the monitor is set to the correct input?

Yes, it's plugged into the MB and yes, it's on the correct input and it is still no output. I'll try clearing CMOS again and leaving the battery out for a bit longer

Dang, I don't know how that could have happened because all I was doing was refining my cable management. It's weird though because the board still gets power but none of the outputs are working, but the back panel IO works and everything. I really hope it isn't the motherboard. Thank you anyways

Could it be possible the CPU power cable isnt in right? I had it in kindof a tight spot so it might be that but is that possible?

Did you plug in that 4-pin ATX12V connector - located top left of the CPU?

Should I get a new PSU then? Because this ones cable (from the outlet to the PSU Shroud) is being wonky not staying in properly/ powering the motherboard properly. I don't know if the issue persists in the PSU or the motherboard anymore.

No, just the MB etc. for now....

At worst you can get another cable from Corsair if you need it.

You have 2 of the EPS cables....... That came with the PSU...

Try the other one,.
