Boot drive failure

Over the past week my drive has been clicking off and on, once in awhile causing a restart. I figured I should replace it unfortunately didn’t get to it while It was bootable. Anywho every time it starts goes into startup repair and is unable to find the problem using cmd prompt it shows the drive is online and shows proper storage limit but can’t view any files my pc also has an old laptop hard drive with a copy of windows the I’ve attempted to boot from but no luck. I’m very inexperienced so any insight would be greatly helpful. if any pics are needed I will provide.

Buy new drive. Install Windows.

If you need data off the old drive, get a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. Works great, though you may not need it, take the failing drive and make it a slave and see what data you can pull off of it
