PS4 wont boot

The only codes I got are in the screenshots. Can you replace a ps4 hard drive? I have extra that I pulled out of laptops, but I don't know if it would work since they're already initialized for Windows, and I know PS4 uses a different system.

You can use any 2.5 inch drive to my knowledge. The PS4 will format it automatically.

So I'm trying to fix a PS4 for my friend. Apparently someone punched it, then it showed this screen:

So I downloaded the update file for reinstallation onto a USB and ran it on the PS4, it got to 98%, then got this:

So I ran it again about four more times and it completed, but when it restarted I got this:

Then, whenever I tried to start it, the power button pulsed blue and nothing happened.

Then I let it do that for a bit and it went back to the first one where its in safe mode.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking I have to replace the hard drive, it is just a 2.5", but I don't know if I can do that.

Without knowing the codes, I'd assume the drive is shot

Here's a quick tutorial it's very easy to change the hard drive. All you need is a standard screwdriver.

Here's a video detailing the process from Austin Evans

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Didn't know the PS4 automatically formatted it, that's awesome.

Before that you could check some options in safe mode to see if any of them fix your issue before trying to install a new hard drive. I apologize, I forgot safe mode was an option

Already tried that, kept failing and bringing me back to the first one.
