What power supply do I need?

techrecorder

Hello! Do you think a 650W power supply is enough for:

cpu: i7-10700K

gpu: RTX 2070 Super

ram: 32GB RAM @ 3200MHz

cpu cooler: Corsair H80i v2

ssd: 256gb intel 545s

hdd: 2x 1tb hard drives seagate 7.2K RPM

Razer Blackwidow Elite & Glorious Model O- (In total, about 5 USB 2.0 devices)

Any opinions would be appreciated! Thanks!

much more than needed. It would be suitable to run a 450 watt PSU, but a quality 550 watt PSU will give you a great upgrade path.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yes it is enough wattage. What will you be using the computer for?

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Playing games in high and ultra settings @ 1080p, and editing in Vegas Pro 17 & Premiere Pro @ 1440p

Intel is better for gaming (ryzen is quite close) but Ryzen does work better for productivity tasks like editing. You might want to consider going with a 3900x and x570 or b550 motherboard instead of the 10700k.

When are you building? New nvidia gpus come out in a few weeks so definitely wait for those if you dont have the 2070 super yet and other cpus and amd gpus come out later this year if you can wait for those.

I prefer Intel in this case, I will definitely be gaming more than editing. And I'm building in like a year so there's enough time to wait.

If you are not building for a year, dont bother putting together a parts list now as prices and parts will completely change by then.

Um, no? A stock 10600k beats an overclock 3950x.

In some games it does, but as I said, it’s pretty close in the majority of games. For a few games the 10700k and 10600k get around 10-15 FPS higher but for the majority it is only like 5 FPS more. And at resolutions higher than 1080p, that lead decreases.

I used this for benchmarks, if there is something better please tell me so I can correct myself.
