Ok so here's my problem, I've been trying to download FS2020 for the past two days, furthest I got was 10gb in to the downloads before my anti virus crashed. So todayI disabled my anti virus and hooked my PC to Ethernet. Now when ever I try to run the installer I get to the "Welcome, set your experience screen" and then it freezes. I've tried every thing microsoft has listed as a fix and nothing works, does anyone have any idea?

Uninstall your antivirus completely, remove any similar programs. Make sure your computer is up to date as far as drivers and is running the 2004 Windows 10 update. Uninstall and reinstall the Flight Simulator launcher, then try again.

If you can't get it to work go in

C:\Users\[youruser]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_[something] and delete the LocalCache folder. It'll remove anything it already downloaded and might be corrupted and start fresh.

And if it works, don't reinstall your anti-virus.  Use the Windows Defender along with Malwarebytes and all will be fine.  With Microsoft coming out with an update to the Defender software every night, there is really no need to have McAfee or any other anti-virus on your system.  Malwarebytes takes care of any odd flavored bugs so between that and Defender you're pretty much covered the whole way.

I found a solution, so as not to have to download the whole game again. In the folder <C:\Users\[youruser]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_[something]\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore> sort by order of modification, delete * .fspatch and *.fspackage files, and last modified folder, open the game, if it keeps freezing, delete the next last modified folder, and so on until the game starts. You no longer have to download everything again.
