So I got home today and turned on my pc and started league, discord and Oprah, after a couple min i notice that my pc was acting weird and slow, so I went to do a speed test and got 5 ping with 200+ up and down so that wasn’t the problem so I tryed to turn it off and on and then I got a error message sayin that the cpu was to hot to start or something. Then I turned it back off and took everything out and took it to my table to inspect it, turned out one of the turning knobs where loose and the CPU fan wasn’t tight so I screwed it back into place and when I went to turn it back on I got no signal on my monitor, I have 0 clue what’s going on and I was wondering if anyone here could help,

Thank you.

It might help if you just re-do or double check everything, for example check if the front panel connector is connected properly or detach and attach it back to be sure, do this with everything (sata cables too)h

Checking by eye or detach and reattach everything basically

I detached ssd and hdd, nothing

So basically GPU or iGPU no matter the video cable there's no video output? Have you tried another monitor or the TV trough HDMI?

As of now we can't know if it's a video problem or else since the computer might be logging into Windows but we can't see it.

When you used to connect an USB to the PC does Windows played a sound? If yes, reattach your drives and while having headphones on try attaching a USB and disconnecting.

I recently changed my motherboard and didn't apply new thermal paste, could my CPU be fired?

It would not fry the CPU since it's going go into protection and shut itself off when it reaches about 100°. If you had no heatsink or thermal paste usually in newer CPU you can even access the BIOS, when entering Windows it will thermal throttle and shut down after the temperatures can't be kept down anymore

You should try anyway to clean the old one really good and apply new thermal paste, maybe while it was disconnected it got too dry

Just managed to get into bios, pressed save and exit and back to no signal, anyone know what this could be?

Did you get into BIOS by GPU or iGPU?

Load to default if can get back inside

Xbox works on my monitor so that can't be it

Was the Xbox connected with the same cable to the same monitor port?

My guess at what you can do:

-Buy new motherboard and hope that fixes it. (Remember that if you are going to buy a new one with the intention of returning it, in case that's not the problem, to take care of the packaging and put it back as you found it so they will not give you any problems)

-Buy new ram? If you can find a used 2gb of ddr4 for 5$ you could try to see if that's the problem

-Test every RAM slots with both of the RAM you have (one at a time, inserting it in every slot)
