Tiger Lake is mobile only. If you're after a desktop CPU, look elsewhere.

Anyway, Tiger Lake has refined 10nm process that clocks higher than before, and general improvements over its predecessor Ice Lake. Also it has  the new Xe GPU. Launch announcement expected 2nd September. Hopefully we'll get performance then or soon after.

Tiger Lake is only for laptops.

The only information Intel have given about desktop CPUs is Alder Lake for 2H 2021. Rumours of Rocket Lake might or might not happen before then, but the timing seems too tight. If you want something today, decide on what's available today. If you can wait to the end of the year, AMD Zen 3 could be very interesting.

Like others said, tiger lake is a mobile chip not a desktop chip. That means it will be used in laptops and not on full desktop computers. Comet lake is the code name for the 10th gen desktop processors (like the 10700k and 10900k). Rocket lake is the code name for 11th gen desktop and will be released later this year.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.
