Hello guys.
I've got a pc problem that im currently unable to fix, and right now im uncertain whats the cause for the errors i get.
I build this pc (some parts are leftovers from my old build like my gpu, and ssd from 2013) arround march this year and had no problems until about a week ago. I started to get random freezes, it freezes the application / program that im running (fe. firefox but sound continues to play, and im able to move mouse arround until it unfreezes again or just crashes and i have to restart pc, same symtoms happen in games fe. csgo, or sometimes my fps drop to arround 60fps and than goes back to normal after some time. Overall it doesn't matter if I browse internet, play games or even leave system on iddle, it happens at random (sometimes no issues for hours, next time it freezes every 15 min) and I can't reproduce it to see exactly whats the problem. (I don't get BSOD) When the system freezes the cpu utilization spiked or at least task manager says so, because its frozen aswell, and if im in game most of the time i get kicked (time out / connection lost) Cpu and gpu temps are fine, no throttling. Event viewer isn't helpful either its just critical error 41 task category (63) with bugcheck id 0x0.
On ocasions after those freezes (happend twice) I get B2 and A2 errors on motherboard which i guess its related to gpu and ssd/hdd, testing gpu with furmark, heaven gives no errors, can run it for hours. I used this ssd in a different build not long ago, no issues.

*Motherboard has no bent pins*

What I have done so far :
*Cleard Cmos, removed battery
*Enabled/Disabled XMP
*Ran default settings / optimized defaults (bios)
*Changed bios (tried F9,F10,F11c, even beta bioses) / switched to secondary bios
*Changed gpu bios (tried all sorts from different brands)
*Reseated cpu, memory, gpu
*Changed thermal paste (cpu,gpu)
*Ran Memtest - no errors in 4 runs (approx 2h)
*Installed new os, (different versions 1809,1909,2004)
*Overclocked / downclocked gpu
*Tried different nvidia drivers
*Updated all drivers (chipset, etc.)

*Tried different PSU
*Changed NIC drivers

*Changed gpu (tried both nvidia/amd)

*Tried all Ram slots, including single dimm

*Tried different drive (HDD/SSD)

*Disabled C states, power saving etc in bios.

PC Specs :
9900k (At mobos default 4.7ghz, cache 4.3ghz)
BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4
Z390 Aorus Master
Patriot Viper Steel 4000mhz (slot A2/B2)
GTX 780 DCII (pls don't bash, im waiting for new gpus to arrive)
BeQuiet Straight Power 11 750 Gold
Samsung 860 EVO  250GB (replacing alongside with new gpu)
Toshiba P300 2TB
Meshify C

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A2 Detect and install all currently connected IDE devices.

B2 Legacy Option ROM initialization.

Have you tried switching the ram into slots A1/B1 instead of A2/B2?

From your manual.

Yes, but my ram is unstable in A1/B1, it doesn't pass memtest. My mobo manual even said to put it in A2/B2 for compatibility issues (my ram is not on mobo QVL, but it is on ram QVL) but like i said been using this build since march without errors. This happened out of blue and i didn't change literally anything since this error startet to pop up.

It can also be u'r monitor problem, or like change u'r refresh rate of the monitor... cuz u r changing u'r graphics card... hope it solves the problem..

I doubt it's the monitor fault, because like i said the system becomes unresponsive, screen/apps freeze with sound still playing like nothing happend (fe. firefox freezes completly alongside with whole system task manager etc but i can still move my mouse cursor and sound is still playing fe. from youtube video.)  I always change the refresh rate to the highest available XL2411Z

Do you have a part number of that memory??

Try Cpu-Z SPD tab.

Would like to see the memory tab as well to see better your settings.

Maybe even Typhoon Burner also.

The memory is just unstable in XMP mode only?

and also TLDR the entire thread or even first post, so sorry if I missed some of the information if you've already supplied it.

Part number? As in serial number or part number from Typhoon?

Memory is stable in A2/B2, but some one suggested to swap it to A1/B1 to see if it makes any difference with my problem, iirc on A1/B1 only xmp is unstable, but i can't remember if i had those freezes aswell on A1/B1 since i almost never used A1/B1 cause it gave me errors, might try it in the morning and see if there is any difference.

TL;DR

PC freezes on daily use browsing/gaming, sound continues to play like nothing happend, can move mouse cursor, it may unfreeze after some time or brick itself totaly (no bsod), tried to swap/change literally everything i can think of.

Also just to mention I have no bent pins.

From the 2 memory profiles, I think the 4000mhz one would work best.

Have you tried it?

Yeah sure thats what i been using, but how is this relevant? 😄 Like i already mentioned in my first post, pc was running fine since march on XMP 4000mhz in A2/B2 slot, it passes memtest now aswell (XMP Enabled). Now it doesn't matter if i set it stock 2133 or XMP pc freezes anyway in desktop doing almost nothing (browsing) or playing some games.

I did TLDR in my post to you. Sorry for that. Sometimes it's too much while I'm on mobile a lot, but just offering some ideas.

Start checking blue screen log files. Maybe just a silly driver conflict causing a blue screen.

No worries, thanks for the suggestions tho.

I don't have any memorydumps so far, beacuse the system unfreezes again, it doesn't bsod or anything. If it freezes and i just restart pc there are no memorydumps.

I never encountered something like this. Like watching fe. yt, the app freezes (chrome/firefox), but can still open any drive on system but not task manager cause its frozen aswell. If it unfreezes it shows high cpu usage arround 90-80% droping back to avg 2-3%. Also just to mention fe if i play online games, and this freeze happens im losing connection and get disconnected.

What S.M.A.R.T. says? Do you have many hours?

Yeah, but this problem exists on other drives aswell, not just this one.

*EDIT*

Added video describing my problem while game "froze" sound continues to play, cuts off, and than continues like nothing happend and freezes again soon after.

Could you try to install Windows 7 or some Linux release and see if this continues to occur?

To try not to reinstall everything you could unpartition non used space but maybe it could mess with the max number of partitions

There's a device driver causing the issue, likely from an external device. Mouse keyboard external storage possibly. Could actually be a list of things. Any device / device driver could cause this issue. Since you've already checked the drives and they are good, this would be your next diag.

So for example, maybe a good starting point, uninstall your keyboard software and driver. Then mouse unless it's the same make. Blue tooth device and so forth.

Tough one to diag though..

Iirc windows 7 and 8/8.1 doesn't work on z390, or it was missing usb drivers can't remember exactly. And as it goes for linux, im complete "noob" and never used it, so I guess it would give me a headache to even run it, let alone to diagnose something.

Well, the only thing i have connected is mouse, keyboard and dac. Tried different peripherials and tried onboard audio, same thing happening. Like I said, I never encauntered something like this 🙄 I guess I'm gonna reach out to the store i bough my stuff from and RMA mobo/cpu, because thats the only thing I can think of being faulty.

But that isnt a good diag.

I would install windows on a fresh drive first. Probably nothing wrong with the board and cpu at all.

Already did, mentioned in my first post. Tried windows 1809/1909/2004, tried 3 drives, 2x HDD and 1 SSD, same thing happening, also tried 4 different sata ports, and swapped sata cables.
