I recently built my computer with a ryzen 5 3600 gskill ripjaws 16 gb 3600mz and a msi tomahawk b450 max and I have the CPU and DRAM red lights on my motherboard. My monitor will not pick up signal from my PC and I have checked my CPU and ram and have not spotted anything wrong with either of them. Is there something I can do?

make sure your monitor is plugged into the GPU

could:

- clear cmos

- try reseating the ram

- try 1 stick of RAM in each slot

- try reseating the CPU (twist and tilt cooler gently before pulling up)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

first, shut down your computer, and power off your psu

then:

- find the CLR_CMOS pins (normally on the bottom right of the motherboard, consult motherboard manual to be sure) and short the two pins with a screwdriver for 3 seconds

or

- find a round silver thing that is about 6/8 inch / 20mm in diameter (near the middle of the motherboard most of the time), push a little silver tab at one of its side and the button cell will pop out, wait for 2 minutes before re-inserting it, smaller face side down

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
