Im building a Windows XP machine and was wondering if there was anyway to run Garry's Mod without Steam, given that Steam will no longer launch on XP.

Main Rig: i7-8086k 5.2ghz on ASUS ROG Maximus XII Wi-fi Z390 with Fractal Desgin S36 Cooler, 32gb 2400mhz, EVGA XC3 RTX 2070

Windows 7/XP hybrid rig: i5-3240(soon to be i7-3770k) on ASRok Extreme6 Z77 with stock cooler, 12gb DDR3(speed varies), GTX 980 FE, Cooler Master 

Windows 98 Legacy Rig: Pentium 4 3.2ghz on socket 478 Intel D865GBF with stock cooler, 768mb DDR, FX5500 256mb AGP

All have several add-on cards including USB, Parallel/Serial, audio/game ports, and modem cards. 

Monitors: 1440/165hz, 1600x900 and 1280x1024 for main rig, Hybrid and 98 rigs share a 1366x768 TV.

Maybe by using an older client and changing the code to not auto update, not 100% sure if it would be possible you could run a lightweight linux otherwise
