Ryzen 3800X Memory Support

Hey Guys,

just wondering if you think this (https://www.auspcmarket.com.au/g-skill-trident-z-rgb-royal-32gb-2x-16gb-ddr4-cl19-3600mhz-memory-gold/) would work and be any good with a Ryzen 3800X?
 

I want the royal gold kit to match the theme of my new build but most royal kits are sold out in Australia and this is the only one I could find available so was wondering if it would work with a 3800x.

Zen 2 isn't fussy about its memory in the same way Zen+ and especially Zen 1 was. Assuming it has an XMP profile its good.

Yea technically. Though if this is a 3600 cl19 kit (link isn't an actual link at least for me). Them that's a waste of money in all honesty. 

For zen 2 get a cl16 3600 kit or a cl14/16 3200 kit. 

And get a 3700x if you don't already have the 3800x. As that's basically the same thing.

QVL lists are nothing more than a list of manufacturers willing to pay for certification. Generally speaking, RAM is RAM (unless you have a Zen 1 CPU).

and worst case scenario you'll have to do some tinkering and that's it. also like what @Master Disaster said, unless you have a zen 1 cpu, zen 2 and even zen + have improved imc's and they are generally less picky.

If the QVL list says his RAM only will run at 3000 or 2933 then wasting money on the kit is a bad idea isnt it?

Very few cases where the ram isn't in the QVL will result in problems. But for the most part they work just fine.

Thanks for your replies, I happened to find a combo of the MSI X570 ACE and 3800X for cheaper than buying a 3700x and ace separately although i'm not sure if it's legit yet...

I bought it on Amazon so it's not gonna be hard to get a refund if it turns out to be a scam. But I want the royal gold because it matches with the motherboard and theme. 

This is currently the only Royal Gold Kit available in Australia that is 32GB, at least the only one i could find, even from other vendors https://www.auspcmarket.com.au/g-skill-trident-z-rgb-royal-32gb-2x-16gb-ddr4-cl19-3600mhz-memory-gold/ 

 

Every other kit is out of stock with no ETA or even if they're going to be restocking.
