Hi,

I bought that samsung 970 pro 512GB 1 1/2 year ago and I did put it in my laptop. I didn't get the expected performance out of it... Arround 2600 2700 MBPS Read in AS SSD and 2200 MBPS in write speed. I thought at the time that my laptop had some kind of limitation even if it was a High End laptop M.2 NVME drives were pretty new when I bought the laptop in 2015-2016. Lately I treated myself to a new tower PC with a 570x-I strix and a Ryzen 9 3900x and I still get the same results. I did try to install Samsung NVME drivers but no results... I thought that maybe it was thermal throttling Samsung magician was showing me 56-60C. So I did put a thermal pad on it so it can touch the back of the motherboard to cool itself and it did lower the temps significantly to 26C but still the same results. Have you an Idea of what to try to resolve this and have the full performance out of my 970 pro. I'm out of ideas.

Let me know.

In windows just right click on drive in my computer -> properties -> tools -> optimize -> select the drive and optimize

... should do the trick at least for some performance gain...

Though you migh already have the "scheduled optimization" on, so it might not matter much...

Pax vobiscum

Different queue depths and threading. The rated speeds for a drive are under ideal conditions - for example, a 128KB sequential read at QD1 (what AS SSD tests) might be <2500 MB/s while at QD8 (CDM) would be up to 3500. For writes, this could be 2000 to 2700 respectively.
