My friend got onto his computer today and it wasn't connecting online, and is now getting that error message on his PC. At first it was saying, "Hamachi" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration". We used to use Hamachi for a game we play, so I told him to uninstall Hamachi and reset his PC. So now the Hamachi error went away but now it is telling him to plug in an Ethernet Cable into his computer, when he already has one in. He has had this PC for almost a year now and hasn't had any issues involving his internet like this. I know yesterday Spectrum had a big outage and he has spectrum so I don't know if that messed something up. He has never had this issue before, I never seen this issue before and I am not much of a internet troubleshooting person so I don't know what to do. We looked up some fixes on google and nothing worked but then again I don't even know if it was for the right issue. We tested the wire with his Xbox and it works perfectly fine so. If he needs to get an Ethernet adapter its no issue its just if this can be fixed it would save some money if that is the case. Plus he has a Final for his class due soon so its the worst time for something like this to happen. He is still getting connections on his phone and on other devices around the house but not his PC.

His PC

Moba: B450 Tomahawk

CPU: Ryzen 3 2200G

RAM: Patriot Viper 8GB DDR4-3000

GPU: XFX Radeon RX 570

Just let me know any advice and I will relay it to him. Thank you!

Why would he need a WiFi password if the issue is an ethernet cable? If you mean the password to access his routers web interface then no, that would be saved in his web browser and resetting the network will not affect that. It does remove all stored WiFi passwords.

He did the reset and nothing changed. Still says the Ethernet cable needs to be plugged in.

Check the cable on another device and make sure it isn't the cable that broke before trying anything else.

He tried the same cable on the xbox and it worked. My guess is maybe the port on the MOBA just got busted but I dont know.

Can we see a screenshot of the Network Interface List, it'll be useful to know what state the network stack is in.

Open Control Panel > Network & Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings and it will bring up the list of connections.

It shows the card is there but cable unplugged. So either there's something that it doesn't like with that cable, or the port is dead.

I think the port just might have died. Is there anything you recommend him to buy or something?
