Please help me with RAM!!!

Hi guys

I own Asus ROG GL503GE laptop. My laptop had an Sk Hynix 8GB DDR4 ram at 2666 mhz installed by default. 

Recently I decided to upgrade it to 16GB so I ordered a HyperX ram which also states that it runs at 2666 mhz.

I installed the RAM and now its running dual channel but at 2400 mhz same shows in CPUZ and as well as task manager. 

I don't know what's the issue here. I'm baffled, frustrated and ugh tired, Nothing on the internet helps my issue. Please if you can help me it'll be of a great help.

Why my dual channel is running at 2400 mhz?

the original might be 2666 but was it running 2400 or 2666 before upgrading ?

try each module one at the time..

btw. the difference in performance might be something like 1% or less..

I tested the RAMs individually. They both run at 2666 mhz when used individually.
One more question, are they running at single or dual channel? Additionally will there be huge performance drop?
