I currently have two displays

Samsung SyncMaster SA300

LG Flatron W2243T

The question I have is that since both of my existing monitors are TN panels (I think they're TN panels anyways...) would it look widley different if I add an IPS monitor?

I do a wide range of things on my desktop such as gaming, video editing and photoshop and just watching videos in general. I've been leaning towards a Benq monitor if I were to go with a TN gaming monitor but I've also looked at the Asus variety of IPS and TN panels.

The IPS panel will just look better. Not sure what else to say other than that.

Is there any notable differences when its comes to gaming on an IPS though? My only fear is that the IPS monitor will make my current TN monitors look terrible :/

It will. Using a PLS monitor between two TN ones. And the TN ones look like anus. Worth it nonetheless.

Any keypoints on gaming on a TN panel compared to a IPS?

I think it's worth only if you play fps games, competitevely: TN panels have better response time, and higher frequency(your games will looks smoother if you can achieve at least 90+fps). I have a Asus vg248qe.

games look better. The whole latency stuff is mostly marketing anyways, as the g2g response you're getting is not telling you much really as there are loads more factors to be taken into account and once you got them all the actual response time for any monitor is much higher. I personally have not seen any ghosting or anything from UT 3 to Dota 2.
