Video Card Markups

Just a little off topic rant I'd like to share with you all a little rant, if this isn't allowed sorry mods you can remove.

But this is just to inform some for fortunate tech lovers out there lol.

Here in Australia we get the pleasure of insane price mark-ups for just about everything to do with tech.

The most recent example I've noticed is the HD 7990.

 

Here in Australia the lowest retail price is about $1299.99 AUD

Whereas in NCIX it is $929.00 CAD

 

Not only is it literally cheaper the Australian dollar is also slightly higher so it's actually more different than it looks.

It's about equivalent to $1354.64 at current rate, that's an extra $325.64 CAD  

 

Makes the expensive international shipping worth it now :lol:

 

Just thought I'd share some insight to some fortunate and unfortunate people lol

Yeah, we have it pretty tough here in aus. The MOST ridiculous thing is software! It really pisses me off that companies like apple have the audacity the charge australian consumers more for apps and music than in america. I mean seriously.

if the software is mad expencive there but it's a download anyway would it not work out cheaper to pay for a VPN and then just download as if u were in the states? just an idea. also with this you could watch hulu and the US netflix (wich i do personaly)

I'm pretty sure adobe mark up ridiculous on their software in Australia even tho its a download, there is a YouTube video of a reporter asking the ceo why.

He avoids the question like the black plague, as a brit, this makes me angry that our commonwealth brothers get f'ed over on tech,

Why is this because surely it can't just be a tax issue,

And is it only with American companies or is it just in general?
