Is there a program or computer setting that would "create" this illusion?

So, the back story is: all movies look sooooo much better on my old 2010 macbook pro.

And i'm dreading the day i have to let go of it. Will probably never be able to consume content like that again...

Is this what people call "the cinema feel"?

Reasons why: its a slow ass two core laptop. So it has to compensate by skipping frames, or lowering them in general.

And it makes it look much better!

I was shocked how much immersion was lost in for example Top Gear African Special was on my workstation compared to the macbook.

Almost couldnt watch it. Its the little camera movements that get sooooo amplified, and just adds like a "the heck is this?!" feeling to it.

And Star Trek?! Holy moly it looks soooooooo tacky on my workstation, its the camerashake, and the more detailed colours...

Data looks soooo "not Data" in high definition. Like the high res image just adds too much unecesery detail and camera movement.

It just lost all its "story telling/adventure" wibes in high def.

Like going from a nice cozy immersive storytelling to a meh soap drama tv series.

I just cant watch it on any other computer than my macbook. Because it ruins my feelgood memories of these movies and series
