Hi all,

I've had my current computer for two years now. Today after trying to install a new nvme drive, my system will no longer post.

All fans spin up and the mobo has power, but the red Q LED light for the CPU will not turn off. I'm worried I may have killed my cpu while moving around my mobo to insert the new drive. I've tried clearing the RTC ram but that did not seem to work. I also tried an old 1050Ti and moving my ram around, but none of that seemed to help. CPU power cable is seated just fine so I have no idea what changed.

Did I accidentally kill my CPU or mobo?

System Specs:

R5 2600

x470i Strix

16GB GSkill DDR4

Sapphire Vega 64

Evga G3 650

Yes. Same issue remains

I assume when you say you reset the RTC you're referring to CMOS yes? Did you try disconnecting wall power for a short time?

Yes. I was referring to RTC as the "Real Time Clock" RAM in CMOS (as per the user manual). I disconnected wall power and even pulled the battery of the board in the process of resetting it. Still presented the same issue
