Hi everyone, I've purchase yesterday a WD Elements 2TB external hard drive and it's behaving strangely. Maybe some of you can help me.

When it arrived it was working fine, I restored it in exFAT because I use it on both PC and Mac (I left the GUID partition map but I've read I should ha used MBR, not sure if this could be the cause).

Today I was trying to transfer files from the PC and it started fine but after maybe 20 minutes it dropped the transfer speed to 0 and made two clicks.

Since then it's not showing up on Mac (I can see on the usb bus and in disk utility but the mac cannot mount it so it's unaccessible).
On windows it's working fine (I'm just retrieving the files in fear of losing them).

Can anyone tell me what tests should I run to check its integrity? How can I make it show up again on MacOS? If I have to turn it back to Amazon what drive should I buy (if you know some that are particularly durable).

I ordered it on Amazon and since I'm not in a well reached city it would be a pain to send it back and order a new one (although I would consider buying in a retail shop since shipping clearly hurts drives). Also is the second drive that I order from amazon and it breaks after less then 48 hours.

My problem is very similar to this one: https://community.wd.com/t/unable-to-perform-first-aid-mount-wd-elements-drive/230592/5

Thank you
