Hi i installed Ubuntu as an OEM (yes i know that was a dumb idea) on a Lenovo Z570 laptop. This was my first time trying Ubuntu and i didn't like it so i took it back off. When i re-installed windows it gets a blue screen and i cant change the boot order either in the BIOS. I have tryed wiping the Drive and Bios but know luck so far. Any suggestions as of what to do?

how are you installing windows?

did you make a set of recovery dvd's from the Lenovo's recover partition prior to formatting it or are you using a generic windows disk?

When is it blue screening? did the install complete?

What os is this assuming 7?

In the bios you need to use odd keys to move devices up and down the boot list (normal + or - sometimes others).

first guess is your using a generic disk and need to add sata controller drivers prior to the os install  start.

I can't do any thing in the boot menu and I am using lenovos recovery CDs, but what seems to have happened here is when I installed Ubuntu as a OEM I think it permenantly wrote itself to the bios. I even took off every battery, including CMOS, and unplugged it. This still didn't help at all.

only very specific programs can flash a new image to a bios, ubuntu is not one of them by default.

So fair guess is the issue would be some where else, try putting your cmos battery back in, reset your bios to default settings *done with an F key from inside the bios*.

Blue screens come from windows so if you are getting that far its a start.

Can you please give a little more information as to what steps you are going through to get to your blue screen and what you see on the blue screen.

i not sure you description is clear enough.  A video of the steps going  up to the blue screen would be relay helpful.

particularity the bits (and steps too)  where you cant get into the bios and where the windows  dvd is blue screening.

you should always be able to get into the bios.  In order to install Linux did you change any bios settings?

And a windows DVD should never blue screen unless it need Raid drivers or board pre installation drivers (very rare to BSOD sometime it just wont see the drives)
