Hard drive broken?

I have a Wester Digital 1TB in my build and it won't show up, everything is plugged in right I already checked. When I look in my samsung magician software it says its unallocated? What's this mean and is it broken?

it sounds like the drive is not initialized and partitioned/formatted.
