Hi, I recently got a new gaming laptop, and a couple of days after that I installed an extra HDD.

I installed all my games on the HDD. (new Seagate HDD 2.0TB 5400 128MB SATA3 2.5 BarraCuda )

Since I noticed in games that I encounter every now and then stuttering, the screen freezes for half a second and than continues normally.

What could be the cause?

I also updated to windows 2004 in order to use the new GPU accelerating mode, maybe that is the issue?

try installing the game on a different drive. if the problem is gone then there might be something wrong with the drive

Wouldn't use the GPU scheduler until its PROVEN.

I've already seen multiple threads of issues since enabling it.
The cause can be the slow HDD, I have a 7200Rpm drive that tops out at 65MB/s Read and Write, but when actively reading and writing it only goes as fast as 25-30MB/s
Which is piss poor and could likely cause performance issues in some games.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I noticed it in GTA V and CSGO.

I had slow drive in the past and never seen any issue with them being slow, so it's weird if it will happen now.

Well you had no issue, then you installed this drive, and then you started having the issue. It's gotta be the drive...

Do as @eeeee1 says and install the games on your other drive to test the theory.

Actually I only downloaded the games after I got the drive so I have no idea if I had it before.

I'll try reinstalling on the other drive

He also enabled the GPU scheduler,..
And I've already seen threads saying it isn't exactly fantastic on some systems...(stuttering)
