i want to buy a phone charger for my mum from ebay, and i want to ship it to her home address,

i currently have some expensive stuff that i also bought for myself  from eBay a couple of days ago that have not been dispatched yet.

When i make the purchase for my mum, and i change the shipping address to her place, its not going to change the shipping address for my other purchased items is it? i just dont want my other things going to her place lol.

Im pretty sure it wont, but better safe than sorry.

thanks.

TheDoubleYGamer is right, iSaeko is wrong, it's not as simple as "nope".

  • You can 99.9% rely on if the labels have been printed, that's it, it's safe to change your address
  • You don't necessarily know which seller will mark the items as despatched first
  • You also often can't be sure the seller sends to the address ebay have or the verified Paypal address.

I was a serious seller from 2006 to 2009 with 5500 FB in the end and I know for sure, on ebay UK anyway, there's no system in place hence no specific reliable way to get items despatched to specific addresses - Sellers even restrict to only the verified Paypal address and get funny sometimes when you ask them to be flexible with where the stuff ends up.

Bottom line you'll have to ask them by message what they can do. You could of course go visit your poor mum once in a while...

The address stored at the time of payment is sent along with the payment. Changing your address now will not interfere with previous purchases, printed or not. You can actually store multiple addresses at any one time and choose which one to ship to at the time of purchase.

You guys are crazy. You know you guys are self-destructive. There's a funny farm somewhere and it's got your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' outta here.

(EDITED)

if the listing specifically states they send to the Paypal address, yep you can do that but if that isn't stated it's not for sure. Although most of the more Pro ebayers do send only to the Paypal address (it affects seller protection policy) it's less convenient than just printing out from the ebay "sold and paid for" list.

From memory, if you print out the Paypal payment pages, you get the buyers Paypal email address which often isn't same as their ebay email address, meaning marking sales as 'sent' in ebay seller control panel has one more stage of difficulty... I never worked out a system for matching the Paypal payment with the actual sale on ebay - there just didn't seem to be the right keys to match one tothe other, maybe there are now, idk... I wish I had figured it out and I'll have to if I ever get back to selling heavily on ebay.

So in practical terms, you have to be sure about where the seller gets the postal address from to be sure a Paypal based address change will work.
