Hello there!

I have Huawei B818 LTE Router and I've been trying for the past few hours on how to change the IMEI number of the model, because in my country I can't use my sim card as it only looks for specific IMEI number to work. So, I tried changing the IMEI number through Telnet and SSH, unfortunately I can't even access my router. This error message always pops up "could not open connection to the host on port 23 connect failed". I've tried PuTTy and it's the same thing. I've also tried adding Telnet in the in and outbound rules. Turning off any anti virus and firewall. Anyone can help me with this?

Best Regards,

Josh

Which country are you using this CPE in? Is it locked to a particular carrier that exists outside your country?

I've seen CPEs like this not use actual SIM cards. The relevant information for connecting to the cellular data network is built into the hardware. What you are trying to do might not be possible. Have you seen it being done before?

You do realise in most, if not all countries, changing the IMEI is illegal, right?  Were talking potential jail time.
