Samsung CHG70 vs LG 27GL850-B

Hello,

I am new to the LTT forums so I apologize if there are any standard formatting that I missed.

Recently I made a big upgrade to my system by essentially building a new computer. Now, however I have hit an issue and that is I do not have a monitor that can actually display the full glory of this PC. I did some research and I believe I have narrowed it down to these two monitors. I really want to get others opinions on these before I drop nearly $600 bucks on a monitor. So please if you have any personal experience with these monitors or an opinion on which is better I would appreciate it. Also if you have any suggestions on better monitors for the price I would appreciate that as well. I really want to stay in the $400-$600 US range. I also plan to use the monitor primarily for gaming with some media watching.

I have the 32” version of the Samsung monitor and have had absolutely no issues with it. It looks great while watching videos and gaming. Just know hdr isn’t the best and the stand takes a huge amount of space.

However, you might want to get the other as it supports gsync.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Quote or tag me so I can see your response

Niiiiice.

I really don't know much anything about monitors.

Hopefully, someone else can comment or suggest an alternative.

I do notice that the Samsung is a VA panel whereas the LG is IPS.

Consider the environmental conditions of your set-up such as viewing angle and lighting. iirc VA is worse for viewing angle and IPS is bad with black uniformity

Cheers
