Hello,

I am looking for a budget laptop recommandation (400-500 USD).

I will be mainly using it for student work, microsoft office suite, some video playback (maybe streaming).

Mainly I am looking for some pointers - especially regarding the processor - is the AMD Ryzen 5-3500U the best choice for this budget range ?

Also what about the display type ? Is IPS better than LCD in the case of a laptop display ?

I have found a good combination of price / specs in this model ACER Aspire 3 A315-42-R1UP, it features:

  • AMD Ryzen 5-3500U
  • 512 GB SSD PCIe
  • 8GB DDR4 at 2133 MHz

Is there any better alternative in this budget price from Intel or is the AMD Ryzen 5-3500U a best buy ?

Thank you.

ips and lcd are the same thing with different names both use liquid crystals

if you don't plan on playing games you could go with a second hand 2013-2015 laptops that go for around 100$ to 200$
(just for your own good dont get lenovo, its gonna break in a month of use.)
if you plan on running light games. or you wanna future proof your laptop for a buncha years, go with the one you found it should serve you well
