Any free rooting software?

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

All rooting software is normally free. I haven't an idea where you're getting yours from.

You have a Samsung device, of which as far as I know uses Odin.

Is there any truly free android rooting software? Every rooting program I've found is either not free, or is free until you actually root with it. Or is every rooting program just a thing you have to pay for? Paying wouldn't cause problems otherwise, but the lack of credit card makes it impossible... Would gladly root my Galaxy XCover 2 to get rid of the limit that only allows installing apps and whatnot on the ''enormous'' 0,7 GB memory instead of a 16 GB SD card...

And no. I will not turn into pirating it (unless it's the only option, but even then I'll just think about it).

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

I were googling it for about a dozen of pages. Everything was either not free or filled with adware.

Go to xda developers forum and find what you need there. I have never seen a root program that wasn't free. Which inclines me to believe whatever you have been finding has not been legitimate.

If you just search on Youtube for how to root your device, you'll find loads of stuff. I've never come across one that you have to pay for

Why not just use Cyanogenmod Installer? (If that's what you plan on using) it's really simple to use.

Requires an already rooted device (tried it with my older Samsung smart phone, requires rooting before installing)

Nope. My N5 didn't require rooting before installing, it did it all for me.

Google used to allow rooting apps on the store, but that has changed and no app available can be able to root any phone. So the CyanogenMod app won't do this any longer if it once did.
