Hi LTT forums, I have an issue with my mouse / cpu and I have done for a while now, this has happened with multiple mice, anyway the problem is that when I move my mouse on a foreground program or anywhere, the cpu usage rises quite a lot, like from 3% CPU to over 20%, this also causes dips of about 10fps in games, and it's just really annoying, it doesn't affect general use of my PC, just mainly gaming, please help LTT :)

Mouse and mouse settings:
SteelSeries Rival 710

CPI - (pretty sure it's the same as DPI) - 900

Polling Rate - 1000Hz (Lowering this does nothing for me)

ah seems odd to me.. do you have any software that you downloaded for the mouse? (changing led pattern etc)

on the mouse that you mentioned has a small oled screen telling you certain stats etc which could affect cpu usage as it trying to monitor whatever the stats are trying to read.

SteelSeries Engine, but I've tried using the mouse without it installed and I still get the issue, as I mentioned in my post above that I tried another mouse, and that didn't fix it, so yeah any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's the mouse dude, I'm getting a new mouse that isn't a SteelSeries one tomorrow, wish me luck! :)
