best way of updating - feature update 2004

  1. should minor updates be updated first and then restart
  2. or should feature updates be updated first
  3. does the order affect anything
  4. does 'Cumulative Updates' check what updates you have, and dl only the stuff you dont have? or does it dl everything?
  5. does w10 have regular update cycle or its random
  6. anything else about updates or anything worth knowing?

go download the windows upgrade assistant. This is the best way to get it right now.

6. Don't force update trough windows update assistant if the update isn't showing up in windows update. This means you have something incompatible and after everything is fixed you'll get the update. Don't worry.

1. No, it's pointless, it's like updating XP before switch to Vista - waste of time. You'll get new Windows with all updates, so don't waste your time.

2. Install 2004 first. Then update new system.

3. Order affect your time you must spend for that.

4. Download everything in single file but install only what is needed.

5. Random regular cycles. :)

6. Image your system using Macrium Reflect bootable rescue USB, then you can experiment yourself without risk and check yourself everything.

 

You can download ISO by changing browser agent (by plugin) from Microsoft, unpack that ISO to some directory you create (like C:\install2004\) and run setup.exe.
