What is your current AV? I would download MalwareBytes and do a full scan, and then post your results here.

First I would advise just running a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.  Afterwards go to Google chrome settings, click advanced.  Right down the bottom it should say reset.  Click reset, it should be gone.  If you still find it happening download the latest version of ADW cleaner and that should remove the hijacker.

so i tried malwarebytes, it found like 88 objects but then stopped responding before it finished the scan i tried it twice but it didnt finish both times, and now my computer seems to be more fucked than before, it either starts up and lets you login to your user then freezes within 5 seconds or it just doesnt come up with any users to log in to . what should i do, also all the security scans ive done in the past while have frozen/stopped responding before they finished

Try and run the antivirus scan from safe mode. also from admin cmd run "sfc /scannow" with out quotes .

And while you are there, backup all your cleaned data and make a windows repair disk.

you will either manage to fix it or have to reinstall,
