GTA 5 LOW GPU USAGE

laushik

My gpu usage is around 60% and my cpu usuage is at 50%. I know this is not a bottleneck, so why is this happening? I have reinstalled my graphics drivers numerous times. I'm playing at 2560x1080 (ultrawide) at medium-ish settings (I want a lot of frames), but no matter what settings I choose, It's like an equilibrium and gets me back to 70-80 fps. Pls help.

Yes temps are very good. GPU at 65c and CPU not exceeding 70C. I don't have anything overclocked, but all of the speeds are running at where they should.

Now thats odd. How about the vram usage? Since ultra wide kinda makes the game render more stuff compared to regular 1440p.

Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to monitor usage. Task Manager numbers can be deceiving.

If you see the same there, do you have 1 or 2 CPU threads with high usage (100%) and the others lower? I do not recall how multi-threaded GTA V is, but this could be a CPU bottleneck due to low multi-threading support.

You don't have any frame-rate targets or FPS caps setup anywhere do you?

My gpu usage is around 60% and my cpu usuage is at 50%. I know this is not a bottleneck

GTA:V only use 4 cores max, that mean the game already "maxing" your CPU.
You can overclock your CPU to confirm this and also make sure your RAM is running @3000mhz with XMP enabled.

My cpu has 4 cores with hyper-threading so it has 4 threads too. How is it maxing my cpu if the usage is not high at all? And yes my xmp is enabled.

Doesn't matter, GTA:V game engine only capable of scaling up to 4 cores, adding more cores will only make u gain or loss a few fps.

Then run some synthetic benchmark like 3DMark Firestrike to make sure your system is actually ok.

Did you try playing the game at absolute minimum graphic setting? How many fps?
