Quick question on these fan’s cables. These fans came with my case, I connected the 3 pin fan cables to their respected ports but I have no clue where these connectors are supposed to go.

Those are 4-pin RGB cables for the LEDs / lighting.

You plug them into your +12v 4-pin RGB headers on your motherboard (or RGB controller, or whatever).

That’s what I thought at first but they seemed loose and unfortunately one of them doesn’t reach... but thank you.

Do you think you could tell me what this mess is for? They all connected to a hub in the same cable and then ran into the front of the case.

What computer case to you have?

What motherboard are you using?

They should connect to the RGB header on the motherboard, and not be loose.

Cooler Master Masterbox k500 and Asus Rog Strix Z390-E. I can’t find anything online and I can’t figure it out with the manuals. I did what you said and got it to stick correctly btw I’m just stuck with panel connections and then I can move onto PSU connections

Basically, if you don't have an RGB header on your motherboard, you can use the included compact RGB Hub.

You chain the RGB fans to a 3-to-1 RGB spliter.

  1. Option A: Connect it to the 'RGB' end of the RGB Hub, and connect the cable from the RGB button on the case to 'SWITCH', and power it with SATA
  2. Option B: Instead of connecting it to the 'RGB' of the hub, connect it to a 4-pin RGB header on your motherboard, and ditch the Hub + color button

For the panel connectors, you need to look at the motherboard manual.

Page 1-20 in the Z390-E manual.

I can't find a picture of the system panel connector / wires for the K500 so...

I did figure out the panel connectors but as for the RGB hubs I seem to only have 3 ports for them but I have 4 cords. The motherboard has 2 headers and the controller only have 1 and I’ve used them all with one left over. (This one runs to the panel) it’s a bad pic but you get the point. What am I supposed to with that?

Wait, I’m sorry are you saying instead of using the switch on the motherboard panel I can connect it to the RGB controller as well?

Cooler Master basically gave you one of these cables, but instead of 1-to-3 (shown), it is a 1-to-5 cable.

Hook up your RGB fans to the 3 (or 4) connector end.

The 1 connector end goes to either

 (A) motherboard RGB header or,

 (B) RGB Hub ... then to the RGB button at the top of the case, and power it with SATA from the PSU.

The RGB button is limited to colors and lighting effects that is programmed into the RGB Hub or switch on the K500 case.

If you control it through motherboard, your limitation is the motherboard RGB software.

Oh! the 4th and 5th connector is for the RGB lighting at the front of the case, and the RGB power button

So basically since I don’t have enough ports I can’t do anything with the button correct? But I have one last question then I’ll leave you alone. I have these cords that are connected to the panel and a USB (I connected the USB already but these wires aren’t labeled and I can’t find any cables or ports that match them. I appreciate the help, gives me a little bit closer. I’ve been sitting here for about 8hours

Depending on your case you have two options. You can connect them to the fan headers on your motherboard. Look in your motherboard manual and they will tell you where the fan headers are.

I have a Fractal Define R5 and it has wires connected to a front panel control that allows me to control the speed of the fans. I just connected them to that. It's behind the door on the front of the case. I can run the fans at low, medium and high. I usually just use the medium setting. It a little slide switch.

So if your case has a way for you choose the speed of the fans you can connect them that way. Just look in the manual for the case you have. It should explain it.

Don't be too harsh on yourself. RGB is far from fun and easy as it seems when youtubers make their videos. I don't even use RGB and I'm annoyed about how messy the whole thing is.
