Windows bootup

Hi, I tried installing a windows bootable version to my USB drive from the Microsoft website. My PC (on the startup screen) shows a few things I can boot from, those being "USB drive" and another option that's called "USB drive partition 1". I've tried booting from both and on one of them the windows logo flashes once and then there's a black screen and a cursor flashing in the corner and when I boot from the second one the logo of the motherboard I have is stretched out across the screen. I already have windows installed but I wanna re-install it and idk if that's what's causong the issue. Anyone know how to fix this issue?
