Budget (including currency): R11500 - South African Rand

Country: South Africa

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Red Dead Redemption 2, The Division 2, Call of Duty:  Modern Warfare Mortal Kombat 11 and a few other easier to run games

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): the only part of my original build I will be keeping is the PSU which is a Corsair VS550

My current PC has the following parts

CPU: Intel G4560
Motherboard: Gigabyte H170M-D3H DDR3 motherboard
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333MHz(overclocked to 1733MHz)
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce 1050 2GB

The intention was to upgrade the CPU and GPU later but the CPU's for 6th and 7th Gen Intel processors are quite pricey and obviously outdated. So I want to build a new PC with the same intention of being able to play current and future games at 1080p without issues. And with the possibility to upgrade the CPU,RAM and GPU later down the line if necessary.

the parts I have found that I think will be sufficient for my needs are the following

Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 AF
RAM: TeamGroup 16GB DDR4-3200MHz(2x8GB)
GPU: Palit Geforce GTX 1660 SUPER

I have attached an image or the parts that I have found on a local site www.wootware.co.za.

I would like to keep the build as close to the R10000 mark as possible not going over R12000 which is between $595 to $714 US.

If I can get some tips or advice on any better/different parts that will allow me to play 1080p gaming at decent fps I would greatly appreciate it
I dont really have preference in parts about the only thing I would like not to change is the GPU. I want to stay with the Nvidia GPU. Other than that I dont mind what else changes

Your parts look great for a 1080p gaming rig. If you still have a PSU, case, storage laying around it should work out just fine. With your mobo choice you can easily upgrade to a 3700x or ryzen 4000 8-core chips and shoudnt run into any problems.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

This is very good, but if you're short on cash, you can get a cheaper B450 motherboard, like the MSI B450M Pro Max. You're spending like $150 on a $90 board there...

i5 12600KF | Zotac RTX 4080 Gaming trinity | Team Vulcan 2x16GB DDR4 3600 | ASRock Z690M-ITX/ac | WD Black SN850x 2TB

Cooler Master NR200P v2 | ID Cooling Zoomflow 280 XT | SeaSonic Focus SGX-750 | Thermalright 2x140mm + 2x120mm aRGB

LG C2 OLED 48" 120hz | Epomaker TH80 (Gateron Yellow) | Logitech MX Master 3 | Koss Porta Pro Comm

I have been an Intel fanboy for ages and with the current state of the market and all. I figured now is as good a time as any to switch to AMD, but know very little. I have seen and read and heard many good things about the Tomahawk B450 boards so chose the one I thought most relevant. I will definitely consider the MSI B450M Pro Max as that is almost almost R1000 cheaper in my country. thank you

The B450M Pro Max is a good board aswell for a 1600 AF but won't leave you as much room to upgrade later. Idk if the VRM will handle these higher core count processors like the 3700x or the next gen very well.

I see. I will definitely weigh my options. I feel very happy with the build either way. Th case I have can support a ATX board so my choices are not limited to the size of the board at least. I do feel that spending slightly more on the Motherboard will go a long way in saving money and allowing upgrades later down the line. im am hoping to get a good few years out of the motherboard i choose to get
