The memory might be a Jedec of 2400mhz, so that means they may already be running this frequency.

One way to find out, is to open Cpu-z and click the memory tab. If it says 1200mhz, it's running 2400 because it's double data rate.

Yeah it is running at about 1200mhz, is it beneficial to to run it higher?

Well sure! The faster the memory runs, the more bandwidth you get from it. 

However small jumps in frequency won't give a large measurable increase. 

That's why you see people say there isn't a big difference from 3000 to 3200mhz for example.

 

Before you try to increase the frequency, I'd like a part number off the ram at the very least, but a couple of screen shots would be great too.

Cpu-Z SPD tab and memory tab. You can open cpu-z more than once (not sure how familiar you are...) And I can better advise you.

Nice, sry for the delay. 

In your bios, you want to change the memory frequency up to the next highest speed. It might be 2466 for example.

Then you look for a setting called memory voltage. You want to manually input only 1.3v 

 

F10, save settings and restart. (If the timings change automatically, we want to manually set them to the Jedec/XMP timings you see listed in the SPD tab of cpu-z)

I did that and timings did not change. The only thing that changed was the memory tab.
