Four. Two in the front on the bracket that comes out, one in the top and one in the back. The top also supports a 140mm fan so you could do that instead of the 120mm.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 512GB SKHynix PC401, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x Micron 1100 256GB SATA SSDs | GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Lian Li SP 850W

Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial DDR4 Pro | Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES | Storage: 128GB Samsung PM961, 4TB Seagate IronWolf | GPU: AMD FirePro WX 3100 | Cooling: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-850

Like the maximum that can be stuffed in without regard to whether or not they are useful for you?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I really like this case. NZXT H510. One of my favorite cases. Unfortunately, it only supports 4 fans. Here is what NZXT says:

Front: 2 x 120/2 x 140mm (1 Aer F120 Case Version included) Top: 1 x 120/1 x 140mm Rear: 1 x 120 (1 Aer F 120 Case Version included)

Only 4 120mm fans supported on this. If you can, use 140mm fans, because they provide for airflow due to their larger size

Less static pressure though.  It’s often a worthwhile trade off but not always.

No, I’m looking for how many will fit in the case, but also how many I need for optimal airflow

Then you need to test.  Airflow is hydrodynamics which is so fearsomely complicated it’s difficult to predict in anything but the roughest way.  Not a fast thing to do.  The more fans the more noise and usually he more airflow but not always.  You’ll want to pay attention to both you cpu and gpu heat.
