HyperX Cloud Alpha ( Mic doesn't work, sound buff )

Go to solution Solved by jj9987,

Ensure the mic is properly connected to the headset - a widespread issue with this headset is that people don't connect the mic all the way in.

Are you using the splitter to plug in two cables or single jack? If you are connecting it to the back I/O, you must use the splitter as the audio jacks are not combo jacks. Some front panel ones might be combo ones, but that depends on the case and front panel connections aren't that high quality either.

Hi guys, so three days ago I bought fresh HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones, they arrived yesterday and I instantly started trying them. They are comfortable let's be honest. But, when I started trying my mic, it doesn't detect it. Well, it does but no one can hear nothing. And sometimes when I speak it sometimes doesn't detect it that much. There's a screen: https://prnt.sc/spapqx ( Sorry, it is in czech ). At the panel there's no detection of any voice activity ( which I was speaking at the moment ) and at the right below thing you can see a slight of a voice activity, but that is not a voice, it shows up all the time and when I speak, nothing changes. I'm so frustrated because im messing with it since yesterday and I have no idea what to do. I tried updating the realtek thing, someone said that older version of realtek works, but after restart my realtek hd audio just got removed. Then I tried the Peace application for mic boost with the APO thing, didn't helped at all and I have no idea what now. I tried unplugging and pluging the cable over and over again, it clicked and still nothing.

And after the realtek update thing, my sound just got weird, it is quite buffering and it is kinda like 7.1 but it just doesn't feel right. After looking at videos I found out that the headphones are not even showed up on the panel of sound: https://prnt.sc/spathc

Can someone please try to help me? I would appreaciate it so much. Thanks.

Hi jj9987, thank you so much, so, I have a good news. The most important thing is that it works now.

The thing I did was that the first cable the main one connects into the larger with two jacks ( Sound and Microphone ) so I unplugged it and plugged it right away and it started working somehow, but it was perfectly connected so I don't know what happened. The mic was properly connected into the headset so I guess it was the issue with the main cable that connects into the splitter.

Anyway, thank you so much. You literally saved my nerves.
